TMJ Treatment
The exact cause of a temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder is often difficult to determine because it typically stems from a combination of physical, structural, and psychological factors. Rather than a single source, Massage helps TMJ by physically deactivating painful muscle knots, increasing local blood circulation to clear out metabolic waste, and lengthening rigid, overworked jaw muscles [1]. When the jaw is under stress from grinding or clenching, the muscles enter a state of chronic spasm. Targeted manual therapy works directly on these tissues to restore normal flexibility and reduce pain.
